eSourcing Exclusive Summit 2009

This years Scanmarket eSourcing Exclusive Summit was held at the headquarters of one of our long-term clients, Grundfos in Denmark.

Grundfos is the world's largest pump manufacturer. Circulator pumps for heating and air-conditioning and other centrifugal pumps for industry, water supply, waste water and dosing are amongst their major products.

Programme

In keeping with tradition, the summit was a good combination of interesting presentations and networking opportunities. The mix of delegates was highly valuable for everyone and the opportunity to discover Best-in-Class sourcing strategies was an advantage too.

The presentations were a balance between client presentations for sharing Best Practise and industry experts sharing their knowledge about:

Grundfos explained about their experiences using the Scanmarket eSourcing platform for a complex sourcing project including a Request for Information and Quotation leading to an eAuction afterwards.
  • Request for Information conducted to identify suitable suppliers from more than 100 potential suppliers
  • Request for Quotation conducted to investigate the competitive pricing level on the market
  • Pre-approvals and quality audits conducted before price negotiations
  • eAuction negotiation to identify the top 3 competitive suppliers
  • Final face-to-face negotiations to finalise agreement
